Sports law has always been my favorite area of law. For me, no other area of law combines such wonderfully interesting people, issues, dramas, injustices and unprecedented legal problems as sport.

It is therefore not surprising that I have been involved in sports law almost from the beginning of my journey into the legal world. It all started in 2008 when, after my legal clerkship, I had the first opportunity to deal intensively with sports law by doing my doctorate on the sports law topic of "Nomination in sport".

I then continued to pursue this goal over the years. Since being admitted to the bar in 2011, I have been advising clients on sports law. My main areas of expertise are club law, doping, sponsorship and litigation. My clients include athletes, associations, soccer clubs and companies involved in sport.

In addition to my work as a lawyer, I was an arbitrator at the German Court of Arbitration for Sport from 2014 to early 2019, where I was appointed as an arbitrator for doping disputes. During my years at the German Court of Arbitration for Sport, I presided over various proceedings as a sole arbitrator. For me, working as an arbitrator is a valuable addition to my legal work. At the beginning of 2019, I stepped down as an arbitrator to become a (deputy) member of the Appointments Committee of the German Court of Arbitration for Sport.

In my years at the German Court of Arbitration for Sport, I have presided over various proceedings as a sole arbitrator. For me, working as an arbitrator is a valuable addition to my legal work. At the beginning of 2019, I stepped down as an arbitrator to become a (deputy) member of the Appointments Committee of the German Court of Arbitration for Sport. I will hold this position until the end of 2020.

In addition, I am also a lecturer in the theoretical training of lawyers for the specialist lawyer for sports law. I am very pleased to be able to pass on my knowledge to other sports lawyers.

Since April 2019, I have also been a full member of the preliminary examination committee for sports law specialists at the Düsseldorf Bar Association.

With effect from July 1, 2019, I was one of the first lawyers in Germany to be awarded the right to use the title of specialist lawyer for sports law.

In 2022, a special honor was added: Wirtschaftswoche named me and my law firm as one of the top lawyers/law firms for sports law in Germany.

I was also included on the list of top lawyers/law firms for sports law for the years 2023 and 2024.
